Be a Part of the Brazilian Culture
As many would know, it is tax season which means busy season for me. This weekend, my husband and I were able to go out to eat and just take some time for just the two of us. I would highly recommend doing this no matter how chaotic life can get.
We tried a restaurant in West Des Moines called Brazil Terra Grill. This was actually our second time going there. The first was for my birthday back in December. This restaurant has been a fun experience both times! They come around to each of the tables with a skewer of different types of meat: chicken, steak, pork, lamb, etc. They also bring around different fish options, grilled pineapple, and grilled veggies, which make for a nice palette cleanser. Included in the price, besides the unlimited meat, is an unlimited salad bar. The salad bar even has a nice variety of hot and cold options. There is a lunch and dinner option. I would recommend dinner just because there are a lot more meat options to try. The price of $38.99 for an adult and $14.99 for children ages 8-12 includes unlimited grilled selections and gourmet salad bar.
There will be three criteria that I will use when reviewing restaurants: atmosphere, service, and the food itself.
Atmosphere: Overall, we did not feel like anyone was on top of us and did not feel crowded. It was a little harder to hear each other due to the noise, but that is always hard to control in a lot of restaurants. It was still a fun experience!
Service: Our waitress, Bobby Jo, was very good. She was attentive to our needs and made sure we understood what was going on. They have a little block that you use to let the people with the skewers know whether you are ready for more, if you need a break, or if you are completely done. On one side there it is red for break and green for keep the goodness coming! We tried our hardest to keep it on green, but you do want to also enjoy all the food you already have on your plate! If you put the block on its side, that means you are all done and ready for your check. Bobby Jo and the rest of the staff were very friendly and ready to assist however we needed them to. You are even able to request one of the meats, veggies or pineapple if you would like.
Food: All the food was amazing! Everything from the salad bar to the meat and finally to the Mango Cake we had for dessert. It was hard not overeating due to wanting to try everything. We have now been there twice, and each time, have truly enjoyed everything we got. My husband and I both agreed, that our favorite of the night was probably one of the chickens, but it is so hard to pick only one. You will just have to go try it for yourself!
Overall, I would very much recommend trying Brazil Terra Grill. It is a fun experience that I would definitely recommend doing at least once in your life. I would also recommend getting reservations, since they are always busy! 😊
