Oysters with a View

We had a visitor come out from Iowa, so we decided we need to go out and find a fun place to try. We were told that Elliott’s Oyster House at Pier 56 in Seattle would be fun. It was literally on the pier! We ended up sitting outside and got to look out onto the water which was beautiful! Like my other restaurant reviews, I like to talk about the food, overall service, and the atmosphere.

Our friend and my husband started off with three different kinds of Oysters: Ichiban, Judd Cove, and Shigoku. I had a really good house salad. I was told that they were pretty good. The two of them informed me that their preference of favorites was the following: Judd Cove, Ichiban, and Shigoku. For our main course, I tried the Double R Ranch Filet Mignon, and my husband tried the Fresh Pacific Rockfish. I will admit I am a picky person when it comes to my steak. I feel that a good steak is tender and does not need much to make it better. I would say this filet was one of those steaks. I could have eaten it by itself. The potatoes and asparagus just added to it! My husband said the fish was good too. I will have to take it word for it since I cannot have seafood (I know, why would I go to an oyster house if I cannot have seafood. My husband likes seafood, so I try to go to places for him too). By the end we were too full for dessert, so sadly no dessert review.

My husband and my meals.

Our server, Matthew, was wonderful! He was so helpful when it came to recommending which oysters to try and was very attentive to us. I would say he did a really nice job also considering they were very busy. Our beverages were always filled, and we never felt like we had too many dishes at our table. The atmosphere was actually perfect. It was easy to have a conversation with the people at our table without talking over others. We had a beautiful view of the water, and the weather was perfect for eating outside. It was a fun experience, and we would recommend it to people wanting to go to an oyster bar. We even had a nice walk up and down the piers afterwards which was really pretty all lit up!
