St. Kilda - A cute little cafe

My husband and I went to St. Kilda, a full-service Australian-style cafe & bakery, in downtown Des Moines. Since our first visit, they have opened two more locations that we hope to try out as well. We had heard some great things about this cafe and were excited when we had a morning where we did not already have plans.

When we got there, we were told there would be about a 15 minute wait, so we decided to enjoy a refreshing mimosa while we waited. My husband did the original while I tried the raspberry mimosa. Both were delicious and refreshing. We were finally sat, about 10 minutes later, and were helped right away from our server. My husband ordered the housemade granola and yogurt and I ordered the avocado toast. We were both not disappointed. Both were delicious and the service was perfect. It may have been a little louder in there, but it did not defer us from enjoying our time there.

The second time we went, my husband had the bircher muesli and I enjoyed the full eggs. Again, we were not disappointed. We must have been more hungry this time, because I did not remember to take a photo of our dishes. Again the service was very good. I did get to try a latte this time and got to enjoy the beautiful design on the top that the bistro did!

I did go one other time with a ladies group from church. That day, I tried their berries & cream toast, which might have been my favorite.

We truly appreciated the service this day, as we had a group of ladies of about 20+. The servers did a nice job and was able to bring out our food and drinks in a timely manner. One of the ladies next to me ordered the full eggs (that I did take a picture of), which made me want to order it when my husband and I went the second time. The only difference that I made was I added avocado to mine.

We would highly recommend this place to anyone. We liked it so much that we plan on continuing to go back! We are also excited to venture to their other two locations to try out the different dishes there as well.
