Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
“They had nothing in common until love gave them everything to lose …
Louisa Clark is an ordinary girl living an exceedingly ordinary life—steady boyfriend, close family—who has barely been farther afield than their tiny village. She takes a badly needed job working for ex–Master of the Universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair bound after an accident. Will has always lived a huge life—big deals, extreme sports, worldwide travel—and now he’s pretty sure he cannot live the way he is.
Will is acerbic, moody, bossy—but Lou refuses to treat him with kid gloves, and soon his happiness means more to her than she expected. When she learns that Will has shocking plans of his own, she sets out to show him that life is still worth living.
A Love Story for this generation and perfect for fans of John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars, Me Before You brings to life two people who couldn’t have less in common—a heartbreakingly romantic novel that asks, What do you do when making the person you love happy also means breaking your own heart?”

I had watched the movie based off of this book multiple times. I really enjoyed it and was interested in seeing how close it was to the book. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised on how close the two were. It really did seem that they took the book into consideration in while they were creating the movie.
For those who have not watched the movie or read the book, this is a story about a girl who ends up working for a family helping their son who, after a serious accident, became completely bound to a wheelchair. Louisa Clark was hired to help Wil Traynor with all needs during the day. Later, it was found out that she was hired to try and help change Will’s find of ending his life. Will had given his parents six months until he would head to Switzerland to end his life and his struggle. There were then twists and turns for the relationship between Will and Louisa. I won’t give away the ending, but I have cried every time, whether watching the movie or when I read this book.
This book was so good! I highly recommend it. There are two more books in the series, After You and Still Me. I am looking forward to reading the next books to see how the story continues. Stay tuned for those book reviews in the near future!
