Lodge with a View

We had been longing for a weekend getaway that would deliver a balance of nature, luxury, and a taste of the region's finest cuisine. We found that, and much more, during our unforgettable two-night stay at Salish Lodge & Spa in Snoqualmie, WA.

Nestled atop the breathtaking Snoqualmie Falls, the lodge's majestic setting provided an instant sense of tranquility. The Salish Lodge & Spa staff extended a warm welcome that felt like a friendly hug, immediately setting the stage for a relaxing weekend. It all started with a nice Charcuterie board waiting for us in our room. There were also some scrubs in the bathroom left by the staff from the Spa.

I would say one of the highlights of our stay was the 'Fireside Essence of the Earth' spa treatment. There's something profoundly grounding about wrapping yourself in Hungarian mud, a sensation only amplified by the soothing flicker of the fireside suite. This was followed by a shared shower, a pause for reconnecting and refreshing before the next stage of our shared journey – a heated stone massage. This massage left us with a sense of tranquility and calmness that lingered long after the spa session ended. This couples spa experience, perfect in every sense, rejuvenated our bodies and strengthened our bond, marking an unforgettable shared experience.

After we were done, we ordered room service. We enjoyed the seasonal ravioli and the top sirloin. We then wrapped up the night with a Damn Fine Cherry Pie.

The next morning, we enjoyed brunch in the Salish Lodge Dining Room. Their menu, boasting local ingredients and regional flair, delivered more than we hoped. We enjoyed the Overnight Oats and the French Toast. What we did not realize what the show they put on when it came to the biscuits and honey! They have their own hives, so they serve their own honey. When you ask for the biscuits, they do what they refer to as “Honey From Heaven” where they take some honey and drizzle it from an arm's length. It is honestly amazing how well they are able to get the honey right on top of the biscuits!

We then ventured out to do a hike near North Bend, not too far away from where we were staying. Rattlesnake Ledge Trail is honestly incredible! We have done it a few times, and everything is different! Per AllTrails, this hike is a 5.3-mile out-and-back trail that has about a 1,459 elevation gain. The trail takes you up Rattlesnake Ridge where it leads to three different ledges. Normally most hikers stop at the first ledge, but what most do not know is if you hike a little bit farther, you can get away from the crowds and enjoy a much better view of the surrounding areas. It is definitely one of our favorite hikes and highly recommend it to everyone!

After hiking, we went into North Bend for lunch. We ate at the Iron Duck and had the Southwest Black Bean Burger and the Steak Sandwich. They were both fairly good and did what we need them to do.

We then went to Pressed On Main for dessert and a smoothie! We tried the “Oh My Guava” smoothie and then a piece of “Slice of Summer”. We also tried one of their pre-made cold pressed juices. They were perfect for after a hike!

When we got back to Salish, we decided to go on another hike. This time, we hiked near Snoqualmie Falls, from the upper viewpoint down to the lower falls viewpoint and back again. Per AllTrails, this trail is a 1.4-mile out-and-back trail that has an elevation gain of about 331 feet. It may not seem like a lot, but the hike back up from the lower falls viewpoint is definitely no joke!

Once we were done, it was time to clean up and get ready for dinner at the Salish Lodge Dining Room. They first brought out bread with a side dish with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It also had an edible candle in the middle of the plate which I had never seen before! For an appetizer, we went with the Roasted Pacific Oysters. They were interesting, but I think the normal oysters are more our speed. For the main dishes, we went with the Salmon Creek Farms Duroc Pork Chop and the Pan Seared Halibut. It was perfect for the end of the day and our server, Kevin, was wonderful!

After dinner, we went out to see the falls at sunset. We were so thankful to do this. It was honestly breathtaking! The colors were incredible and the falls were so pretty!

Our last morning there, we actually paid a little more for a private room and a view of the falls. It was very neat to be right above the falls and see a different view of it than we were used to. For our meal, we did the Overnight Oats again along with a side of scrambled eggs, and then the Vegetable Benedict. Honestly, I was not a huge fan of the benedict. I do not care for mushrooms, and there were a ton on this dish. Next time, I think I will try something else. The potatoes were really good, and the oats were delicious as always!

The impeccable service, stunning views, mouth-watering meals, and serene spa treatments made our stay at the Salish Lodge & Spa a memorable weekend. We left with our bodies rested, our bellies full, and our spirits rekindled, eager to return for another dose of this Pacific Northwest paradise.

Whether you're seeking a romantic getaway, a culinary adventure, or a tranquil retreat, Salish Lodge & Spa ticks all the boxes. We wholeheartedly recommend this gem in the heart of the beautiful Snoqualmie. You won't just be visiting, you'll create memories that last a lifetime.
